The Department of Defense has identified 3,430 American service members who have died since the start of the Iraq war. It confirmed the deaths of following Americans yesterday:

ANZACK; Joseph J. Jr., 20, Pfc., Army; Torrance, Calif.; 10th Mountain Division.

ASHLEY, Benjamin J., 22, Specialist, Army; Independence, Mo.; First Infantry Division.

BUTCHER, Steve Jr., 27, Staff Sgt., Army; Penfield, N.Y.; Third Infantry Division.

CAGLE, Daniel P., 22, Pfc., Army; Carson, Calif.; Third Infantry Division.

DEMBOWSKI, Robert H., 20, Pfc., Army; Ivyland, Pa.; 82nd Airborne Division.

HIGDON, Kristopher A., 25, Staff Sgt., Army; Odessa, Tex.; Second Infantry Division.

KUEHL, David C., 27, Staff Sgt., Army; Wahpeton, N.D.; Second Infantry Division.

WORTHINGTON, Robert A., 19, Pfc., Army; Jackson, Ga.; Second Infantry Division.
